I was looking up the latest pricing on TGrant's website on the 1980 repair and apparently another price increase!! Apparently now its almost $900 to get it serviced!

Latest pricing on AG-1980 Repair

This is getting insane. I was fine when the repair price was $400, but that was years ago. Now with it almost being $900 its going to cost $1,000 (paying shipping both ways) to get it fixed. I'm a bit bummed by this and not sure I will even send anymore units to him, not to mention that he still isn't accepting any 5710's which are all I have now.

I guess that if either of my 5710's crap out them I may just get rid of them. I unfortunately can't afford to pay that kind of money to service something that may not last that long. Really wished I had considered taking electronics. If anyone have any ideas on someone that can reliably service the 5710, i'm all ears, as the pool of reliable techs are drying up faster everyday.

You have to ask yourself, Is it worth to you? Is it making enough money to you that requires dropping that insane amount of cash to keep it going and making more money, If the answer is no than don't do it, Pretty simple.

I wonder what's driving up the cost, and how much would it cost to remanufacture the part.

Or if most of the cost is just to keep too many orders from coming in at once, then I'm happy they're getting so much business, and maybe someone else can offer the same service to take some of the load off and help bring prices back down again.

A member here, "Deter", is perhaps the world's best at this time to ask about and/or repair your machine.
