JVC HR-S9600EU Malfunctioning. What to do next?

It always gotta be these incredible units to *always* go wrong some point down the line, aren't they?

A few days ago, my JVC HR-S9600EU PAL deck started acting up with a loading/ejecting mechanism issue. For the most part, playback was absolutely fine, but this was an inconvenience. I opened it up, cleaned it a bit, and the issue would happen at random.

Last night, the VCR ate a tape that was pretty valuable, and I'm very angry about it, but can't help but feel sorry for the player. Something's not right, and I'm not sure how to proceed from here. So what I did, I popped in a movie, and let it play that for 40 minutes or so, just to give the machine some exercise.

I put in a somewhat rough tape in next, to test it's durability. At a very rough portion of the tape, the player turned off. Very inconvenient..! It didn't do that before. You can see in this link when the player shut off, and me forcing it back on to continue the capture (ignore the sync issue, happened in quick rendering):

24 hours go by, and I give the player another go. I pop in Toy Story, let it play for a few seconds, then hit fast forward (yknow, exercise). I hit rewind----nothing. Stop? Nope. It just did it's own thing, and then shut down. Now, it's reached the point where it won't play anything.

A real shame considering this is one beast of a unit, and would hate to see it go to waste. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do next?

I also attached two videos from my camera (pardon the ooone swear, please..! :depressed: )

Bumping this thread- do we know if any of the recommended VCR repair places deal with European units?

Should've probably been a bit more specific; any places in the US that can service a German unit?

Hello.
The issue shown in Clip1 and Clip2 is due to the fact that you are playing without the deck cover.
If the room is bright enough, some light reaches the sensors and prevents normal play.
This is a typical, well-know behavior of a certain category of JVC VHS decks.
If you put the cover back (or make the room dark), you should be able to see a different behavior.
