What is this tilted component in my JVC HR-S9700EK?

More of a question then a problem. What this component called inside my VCR? Is it normal for it to be tilted like that, I have seen capacitators on motherboard and circuitry that are slightly tilted but works perfectly fine, I'm just curious on what it is.

a video head drum
Lookup video helical scan and read up, it's a lot of fun.

That's the most bizarre question I've ever heard, Usually people who own VCRs even when they have no technical skills they still know what
is. Sorry for sounding rude but I was really surprised by this question. You must be young and you just acquired the VCR and you have no idea how it looks inside, Right?

Not knowing is why this user is asking. ;) -LS

VHS_UK, don't worry, some of us are civil.
Latreche, your reply comes over as a plain old smackdown. There was absolutely no point in saying most what you said. It achieved nothing and sounded pretty rude, as you said yourself. No wonder these video forums have the reputation they do, and no wonder people don't come back, as you whinge about on Videohelp.
If can't say something nice or helpful, please don't say anything at all.

Let's focus on helping the OP here. This should be an easy Q&A here, not an argument. -LS

VCR head.

No harm in not knowing this. I drive a car, and don't know what some of that stuff under the hood is. Not my area. That's why we have mechanics. If ever I wanted to DIY repair my own car, I'm sure I'd have newbie questions like this.
