Hi All,

I purchased a JVC SR-v10U along with an ATI TV Wonder 600 in order to try and transfer VHS to digital. One problem I am having is that the VCR heads seem to get dirty after playing (and recording) one to two tapes. Thus I need a way to clean the heads.

I went and bought a Maxell VHS Dry Tye head cleaner cassette, however the VCR won'y 'play' it. The machine attempt to play the cleaning tape, and then poweroff.

Do I need a special head cleaner cassette for this machine?

Never use a "cleaning tape". All it does is smash the dirt into the heads. That's not good!

Do this: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...clean-vcr.html

If you search for the forum, there's quite a few threads that deal with this. But that's the best one.

- etc

Instead of chamois swabs, we use DSLR sensor swabs here.
