LiteOn 5005a DVD recorder firmware DDW-813S?

were can I get the firmware for this drive I have lot of these NOS(new old stock) drives
I need 16x speed disc support 8x speed are hard to come by now days

flashing on the computer would be easier since I don't have a remote control of this unit :(

all have firmware B2A5 said on the label..
When I do get (them) working I not going to profiteer. they will be priced resonantly at $35 a piece +6 for shipping
which is perfectly fair market price

these drives are weird they only have 512KB flash even though the circuit board is identical to my old factory drive. I found some x16 speed disc the are compatible with the drive. the brand is Phillips DVD+R 1x-16 as they claim

I tried the DVD-R version of the same brand and it did not work says invalid disc.

also the drives seem flash write protected and write button is grayed out to flash it

these are also locked out and Region Free I tried setting the Region in xp and it reset it self to Region Free after rebooting .

The counter went to 1 left after the reboot it was reset back to 2 left and "Region Free"

Why? 16x discs work fine in older drives. DVD recorders all use realtime (slower than 1x) recording speeds anyway. If transferring from a HDD to a disc, most just do 4x, especially on a unit this old.

The farther away we get from the DVD recorder era, the more I forget. Thinking about 8-9 years here, I bleve any LiteOn drive from the same era worked without any special firmwares or mods. So if you're trying to stick a newer drive in the old recorder, I highly doubt it would work. The firmwares are probably not in any way compatible.
