JVC HR-S7800U problem, turns off within 3 seconds of tape insertion
Hi, I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with a JVC HR-S7800U VCR I bought and was hoping someone on this forum might have a suggestion. Long story short, I bought the VCR off ebay, but upon arrival, there appears to be a problem with the VCR. When I plug the VCR in, I see the word "Auto" displayed. When I insert a tape, the machine makes a buzzing sound and has trouble taking my tape in. After several tries, the VCR finally accepts the tape. Once the tape is in, the VCR displays "--:--:--". However, within 3 seconds, the VCR turns off and instead displays "Auto".
I read a post here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vcr-...0am-keeps.html that describes a similar problem and has a fix where you turn a gear. Would anyone have any idea what is wrong with my VCR? Thanks! |
if it has trouble taking the tape, open it up, clean and lube the mech and check and/or replace the loading belt.
if those dont fix the issue it is probably more serious and i would return it. |
