BVP-4 Plus Split Screen doesn't clear to the left

On mine, the Split Screen doesn't adjust all the way to the left:



I've only seen one reference to this, with no followup, so I'm thinking this may be by design. Does anyone know? I guess these were not designed with internet display in mind.
