Hello there, my Funai video-dvd recorder starts up but turned off immediately.
I have checked the power supply, all ok. What could I check more?
Model W4A-A4180DB.

Does it play at all (some tape content on output), or try to start but shut down before actually playing the tape?

Most VCRs include internal tape protection features that will shut down the machine if the tape loading sequence and reel movement are not correct; such as mechanism binding or timing errors. It can also be caused by bad contacts or connections on sensors that monitor transport functioning.
