Which capture card among these options for VHS?

I have been digitizing my VHS with the EasyCap USB capturer and the Honestech VHS to DVD 8.0 Deluxe software for a year. Every few minutes the video freezes, the audio does not. I think it's because of the EasyCap since I have a PC fast enough for VHS:

My uncles have DV, they want me to pass them to DVD so I think about maybe getting a captor for it, but I prioritize the quality for my VHS.

For DV sources (e.g., miniDV tape) capture via a IEEE1394 (aka Firewire and iLink) will result in a lossless file on the PC. Most newer PC no longer ship with a IEE1394 port but add-in cards are available.

The question becomes do your uncles want any image correction, restoration, or editing prior to putting the files on DVD?

Pinnacle Liquid Edition 7: Pinnacle was bought by AVID and then Liquid Edition was killed off in around 2010. It was an capable NLE system, and came with a USB breakout box (BOB) with composite, s-video, IEEE1394 and component input/output capability. Off hand I do not recall what capture formats the BOB supported, but it required Liquid Edition to be installed on the PC. The BOB was mainly a WinXP era device and does not have 64-bit drivers.

I would say stick with the Win-tv Pvr-150 just don't use any proprietary software, instead use VertDub. If you must buy one of the pinnacle devices you listed don't use Pinnacle software, and don't buy the ones that are built in MPEG-2 hardware encoder (chip) you can't capture lossless AVI with those.
What you want is the ones that have both USB and Firewire ports, Pinnacle came up with this idea after the computer manufacturers dropped the Firewire port and lot of people with Digital8 and miniDV camcorders don't have a way to transfer their digital tapes to computer, Such devices can connect to the camcorder via firewire and to computer via USB and transfer the digital tape 1:1 with the addition of controlling the camcorder playback from the DV app in the computer.

The 500-USB shown in the diagram can capture lossless analog via S-Video/Composite and transfer DV via Firewire, but only one function can be used at a time:

Are all the ones you mentioned available locally? PAL-N compatibility will be a consideration for your options.

Your mention about the video "freezing" with the EasyCap is probably due to lack of TBC.

Does the same compression problem also with a grabber pinnacle? For example: Dazzle Video Creator Plus HD.

I don't have TBC but the problem only happens when I capture, not when I play the video without recording.

Exactly, this Moviebox Dv only run in Windows 32bit (7, xp). I asked the seller.

I found a very good price Canopus Advc 100. I don't have Firewire on my pc so I would have to get it.
Do you recommend it more than the others? Should I install windows xp to use it? I would really rather not do it. I work with Adobe.

Most members here don't recommend DV capture devices for capturing analog video especially if NTSC is involved.

The solution allows you to get uncompressed 4:2:0 from the PVR-150 but doesn't solve the inherent limitation. A device that can do 4:2:2 would be better.

For the VHS, of those options, the 710. Should also work fine in WinXP to Win10.
Do lossless 4:2:2 with that card.

Never DV, loses 50%+ color quality. Canopus ADVC boxes are craptastic.
