ATI TV Wonder HD 600 USB will not recognize input?

Hello,

Recently, I just started playing around with the ATI TV Wonder HD 600 USB stick. I'm trying to use Catalyst Media Center to capture analog video to MPEG2. However, when the program loads and I go into the "Video Input" setting, it is only recognizing the digital TV antenna - which seems to work fine for pulling in over the air digital channels. However, it is not recognizing the input from the S-Video or composite connections. Those are not even options on the menu. I literally have no other options aside from using the digital antenna. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance,
Justin

I have just updated to Windows 10 x64 Professional from Win7 x64 Ultimate. I have the same issue now. I couldn't get anything from CMC except the digital antenna option in Windows 10. This was a fully functional capture system (USB 600 with CMC for mpeg, Virtualdub for avi) when it was Windows 7. I am now strictly capturing in avi with Virtualdub. I searched for 2 days trying everything I could find or think of to fix the CMC issue. I have to guess that Windows 10 broke something beyond our ability to work around.

Win10 breaks capturing for lots of software. Sometimes you can correct it by changing some of the hardware permissions.

Any guess how to change the hardware permissions for the 600? I have the driver installed so the computer recognizes it and Virtualdub can see and use it. CMC has been uninstalled, registry cleaned (CCleaner multiple times) and I have attempted to reinstall the program from the iso on the site. It repeatedly hangs when I try to install. I have tried compatibility mode for all previous Windows options. When I go the C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI\Catalyst Media Center I can see the CatalystMC.exe and have tried to launch it from there but it says "No tuner found" when I select TV. Worst case scenario I guess I could cobble together a PC and put XP or 7 on it and leave it disconnected from the outside world.

Have you looked at Crossbar Thing? I'm not a pro but it sounds like it may expose something useful. I can't switch my Pinnacle-710 to S-Video input without it.

So, to report a semi-update, I did a clean install of Windows 7 and installed the Vista (last drivers AMD released for this card to my knowledge) drivers using Lord Smurf's suggestions on the main ATI thread. Everything is working now.

Like evilt1000 said, my best guess is that something "changed" in Windows 10 that interferes with the ability of the system to recognize the analog component of the card, thus rendering it useless for capturing analog sources.
