True enough, but I've a few products & I think it might be more help with the plug & play systems, and honestly it's the cheapest option I have currently >.> *cough* can't be worse then what I am dealing with now. The worst outcome is I got a hdmi out for plug & play systems & great for travel & easy use of older one off games.

Yes there's a lot of hardware now, for "gamers" to adapt or record from gaming (consoles) hardware, it never hurds to try some of those options.

One issue with "gamer"-devices is that they're geared at minimum latency, for e.g streaming or using when playing a game on a modern TV. Time-base correction and video stabilization will add latency and are not useful when grabbing video from game consoles and similar so it's likely to be not enabled or not present.

It would be cool to have something akin to the RetroTink or framemeister devices that have tons of firmware adjustents that were geared towards capture from tapes, with line/frame TBC etc but I guess the demand hasn't been there for such a project.

Both of you.. Seriously jumping the damn gun.

this is an example of a 'one off gaming device' Namco Plug & play Game - Amazon Listing

Secondly, any official game console from the PS2+ era, will work really well with a BMD capture card, as they have built in sync abilities, and are fully capable of providing a completely solid sync signal for picky / finicky setups.
-the problem that is accuring for me here is... the VCR can't send a correct timing signal from the tape because it's damaged. Yes I'm working on it.

I respect and honor what 'framemeisters' can do, but I'll say this up front.. they have no place outside retro hardware enthusiasts whom want to use RGB - SCART (which is pretty damn good, but HDMI is better), and is only really useful for modded av units that are capable of outputting that RGB signal but not an HDMI signal, and professional gear that is now mostly outdated in a professional setting.

They also, are not a good 'all around' device, and despite their quality... which is good, they are not a good price point.

I already have SW based Deinteralacing support in my streaming SW that is good enough for any streaming (private usages), and scaling is miles better (pc hw & refinement), and Deinterlacing that rivals/beats* the framemeisters, (Resolve Studio, which is amazing well worth it's price) with far more control on the output.

I don't get how this point is lost - 'I DO NOT LIKE OR WANT HW SCALERS' I will glady take the PC performance hit on scaling as needed for w/e my use is, and if I want to capture a video.. I want it at it's resolution.. and I will work with it as I can.

Is a lot of the footwork already done in the better products like a framemeister, Yes. but frankly i'd rather keep it as I have it, and just le my video player scale it to my 1080p, and if I really want to.. I can work around & upconvert it in software maintaining the quality as I do so.

And that is exactly how it should be done.
