Is Asus AGP-V6800 a good capture card?
1 Attachment(s)
I was going through some old boxes trying to see if I had the parts to put together a capture PC and I found this Asus AGP-V6800 graphics card. It was pretty fancy and came with VR googles. More importantly it also has S-Video IN, S-Video OUT, and Composite OUT.
I remember playing with this card and a VCR way back around 2001 but I can't remember much more than that. Does anyone know if this is a good capture card? -- merged -- Sorry! It looked fine from my computer. Let's see if this works... |
Attach the image to the post, not Imgur. Need to see it, not sure. Though probably not.
-- updated -- Wow, I remember those. It's a rebadged GeForce card. It functioned, but was not a great card that I can remember. It's been 15+ years since I saw a capture from one. I vaguely remember the card being even worse than an ATI AIW to install, more like a Matrox or Canopus internal. I thought it was a Philips chip for capturing, but did not see one in your image. And that card needs a cleaning! |
Thank you for the reply!
There is a Phillips brand chip on it. It's the one next to the upper S-Video connector. You probably can't see it though because of the low-res image. The chip is the SAA7113H. The datasheet calls it a "9-bit video input processor". |
