Ok I have a Pioneer DVD recorder the 640. I just got done recording something to DVD. So I grab the remote to finalize it. And the remote isnt working at all. It doesnt shut the unit down nothing. No access to the menu etc. I can manually switch from the tv to DVD from the button on the unit I can shut the unit off and turn it back on normally without the remote so its not the unit. I switched batteries, nothing. I changed the ID number even from Defult1, to 2 and 3 and nothing there. SO I just unplugged the unit to see if that fixes it as I have been told that before, that that can fix most problems over night. Does anyone know what might be wrong as right now I cannot access the hard drive without my remote.

Thanks,

Brent

Bought a Philips Universal and have been trying for the last hour or so and nothing worked

I am thinking I will leave the record unplugged overnight see if that fixes the problem. if not I will leave it unpluged until monday.

If that fails I will then wait and take the record with remote to the repair shop that is located in Duluth MN which will be only less than a hour away and see what the problem is. Hopefully I can have them NOT delete the hard drive as that is what the repair shop downtown did to my Panasonic everytime it was just "Proceedure" to do so.

So if they could say atleast transfer the stuff that would be cool, if say the HD is bad. But the thing is that everything works just not the dang remote. I need to access my HD or I lose so much. The entire run of Painkiller Jane, Are you smarter than a fifth grader, My sisters Bachelor, plus more...ugh
