OK. I have read some posts and searched various products. I especially noted that it says something like,"8mm analog transfer/capture is not editing" and "could result in losses upto 50%."
1. Is there any TBC taking place from my SONY DCR-TRV460 playback or can it only be part of capture card/software?
2. DO various capture cards determine the "up to 50% losses? I was advised by an Elgato contact, there would be no difference between buying "Elgato USB" vs my broken/out for repair Diamond VC500 vs my Dazzle parallel port with the missing power supply. I'd be happy to spend more and get the best color possible, but don't understand what I need to focusing on.
3. One thread here mentioned higher end cards that had no video capability. Is there any benefit to enhancing audio in home movie conversion that isn't obvious in analog transfer? Thank you for your patience.
