The magic here is mostly Mercalli, but it does take experience for the best setting (learning curve).
I have a lot of experience with shaky aircraft footage. In plane, and out of plane.

Latreche and LS, out of interest, what was your processing workflow for that clip?

I was lazy. Didn't use your source. I downloaded latreche's clip to project SSD, needed the 50fps QTGMC/bob'd.

Dumped the MP4 directly into Mercalli, tested for settings. Encoded out.

Opened MP4 in VirtualDub2, saved as Lagarith. VirtualDub2 has resize/matte issue.

Opened Lags in VirtualDub 1.9, with all my filters, matted, saved Lags again.

Opened Lags in Hybrid, chose my main custom template, tweak few settings, encoded.

Uploaded.

Again, just a quick sample of stabilization. So took some lazy shortcuts.

There you go, you see: the difference between a good workflow and a professional workflow!

I do have Mercalli 4 with MEP, but don't know what i'm doing with it yet. My first go came out worse that original. It was more "stable" but jumped at times. Also, the wavy runway lights were a turn-off.
