I have a Hauppauge PVR 1212 as a capture card and wanted to switch to VirtualDub from OBS. However while it does connect to the card, no preview appears and WMD Image Capture "cannot connect to the desired capture driver." Likewise, both test capture and capture video will not start. I have tested this on both VirtualDub 1.9.11 and 1.10.4

Is there any possible way to fix this, or will I need to purchase a new capture card altogether? Likewise, are there any decent alternatives to VirtualDub? I also apologize if this is lacking in essential information. I will provide any if necessary such as Compression settings, Pin Settings, and the ilk.

Thank you for your time.

OS?

DirectX setting in VirtualDub preferences can cause issues, mostly with Win7/8/10, turn it off. Try it. Sometimes work, sometimes doesn't help.

That card should work.

Pleasure to speak with you lordsmurf, and I appreciate the help. Yes, I am indeed running Windows 10, and i went ahead and disabled the DirectX settings in preferences, but it did not work as you mentioned. Probably will yoink a Dazzle DVC 100 from a friend for the time being until I can invest in an ATI 600.

AmarecTV is another capture program. I works with every card I have (Win 10 v2004). Doesn't have it's own histogram though as far as I can tell.

AmarecTV seems like a neat program, will definitely give it a test run. Thanks for the recommendation
