How are the Osprey 210e cards?
How are the Osprey 210e cards? I see they work with virtualdub. Are they equal, better or worsr then Matrox MX02 hardware? Thanks

Most of these new cards are destined for the CCTV business where a computer is used and a bunch of composite analog camera's that use BNC for composite are hooked up to a DVR software. How well these cards react to a VHS signal remains to be seen, You can jump in and let us know.
It seems they are expensive because they are used by professionals where an IP camera is not suitable for security purposes. There are knock off's Chinese cards as well. |
I have an Osprey 260e and it produces the best capture of any of the cards/devices I've tried. It has a 3D comb filter (CX23888-32Z) which you can enable or disable in the settings. My only suggestion would be not to buy new as they're way overpriced, just get a used one off of e-bay...they're built to last so you won't notice any difference with a used one and you can usually find them used at a reasonable price.
