Has anyone run into this issue before?

So I am trying to install VirtualDub 1.9.11 on a fresh system (same as my current setup that runs VirtualDub just fine, a Dell Omniplex 960) Windows XP Professional SP2

So the problem is... every time I go to hit the Capture AVI in VD, it bombs out and I get the blue screen

I've attached the blue screen that has the errors on it.

Doesn't seem to be the capture card (ATI 600 USB) because it runs Catalyst Media Center fine...

Thanks!

Solution was I was on the wrong device

Needed to be on 'ATI TV Wonder 600 USB 2.0 (DirectShow)' and NOT on 'Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32) (VFW)'

Don't know why that setting technically crashes the system but now I know to steer clear!

Yep.

But note that sometimes WDM is needed over direct driver access, as is the case with some AIWs on some systems. It is somewhat random. AIW will crash or not preview, WDM will work perfectly. But with the 600 USB, I've never seen this needed, and in fact will sometimes crash as you saw.
