COM Surrogate has stopped working, huffyuv.dll?
While trying to use the MSU de-interlacer or either of the two pre-loaded deinterlacer plugins I get an error message: "COM Surrogate has stopped working." Here's the technical info:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: DllHost.exe Application Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Application Timestamp: 4a5bc6b7 Fault Module Name: huffyuv.dll Fault Module Version: 2.2.0.1 Fault Module Timestamp: 3fe39a22 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00008819 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Yes, I know I have the beta version of the codec installed, but I was trying it out to see if it would resolve this problem and it does not. Does anyone have a clue what's wrong or is this simply an incompatibility between the codec and the plugin? |
I don't know if this is related or not, but the program also crashes when I try to open a huffyuv AVI file in virtualdub that I recorded with virtualdub.

Hmm, it seems it's from the dllhost.exe. If you use the process explorer, could you find what's making it crash?
