Hi there,

Before starting digitising VHS and S-VHS videotapes i like to know how to start with the best possible video-signal from my Panasonic NV FS-200 recorder. Logical to use the S-VHS output from the Panasonic NV FS-200 but the manual says the AV1 scart output can be switched to NORMAL or S-VIDEO. In the layout of the scart-connection i see R-G-B on pins 7 - 11 and 15 offered when the switch is set to NORMAL at both scart outputs. I made a scart - RGB cinch for this 3 connections to connect the Panasonic NV FS-200 to my TV but no signal. Is the S-VIDEO output the best quality output i can get from this recorder?

You want to use S-Video. VCRs, including this one, do not normally output RGB, they can only pass RGB from one scart input to another scart output. VHS is natively Y/C
