TBC with VGA(RGBHV) output?
 

In my ongoing quest to find obscure alternative equipment to improve my VHS capturing without buying the $800+ reliables, I recently acquired the LANCIAxi from Extron for real cheap. It was a fun coincidence because I had recently found a thread from 2012 where someone had mistakenly believed they had a TBC with VGA output, to the doubt of most present. So when I found an RGBHV BNC output arrangement on this device my curiosity was piqued. Upon finding the documentation does indeed attest to a TBC within the unit I decided to go ahead and take a minimal risk chance on it with the hope of testing it in a workflow later.

It will almost surely be more trouble than it's worth to any future purchaser by the time I get it into a digital file, but I'm gonna try it and my options are the RGBHV, RGBS, or RGsB on output. Any tips or ideas about how I might route this baby to a final capture point? :hmm: So far the only thing I've gotten from elsewhere was a suggestion to take it up to HDMI connection via an additional investment in the Extron RGB-HDMI 300 A.

I wouldn't use a line doubler for VHS, that's the worst deinterlacing method you can use for analog video.

Probably right, but I've been in a plug-it-in and see what happens mood the last year or so and most video advice tends to be device and tape conditional anyway. Worst case scenario I spent $20 to certify it as useless. :congrats:

Finding a RGB capture card can be a pain, Most capture cards capture component YPbPr which is a blue and red subtractive scheme not full RGB component like in old computer monitors and video projectors. I think a retro gaming forum will be more suitable for your query.
