Hi all,

After a long hiatus I have started capturing again. For some background I'm capturing VHS tapes using the following equipment:
  • JVC SR-V10U S-VHS VCR
  • Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD Recorder as a pass-through pseudo line TBC
A custom built Windows XP capture PC with the following hardware:
  • ASRock 775i65g r3.0 Motherboard
  • Intel® Core™2 Extreme X6800 CPU
  • 2GB Corsair XMS DDR RAM
  • ATI All in Wonder 9200 GPU
  • Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound Card
  • 500GB 7200RPM HDD [OS]
  • 1TB 7200RPM HDD [Capture Footage]
  • 2TB 7200RPM HDD [Capture Footage]
I've been experiencing a frequent issue with audio levels during capture. Within the first 10 minutes of a capture in VirtualDub, the left audio channel slowly fades away to a point where it is inaudible. The levels seem to improve somewhat when I run the Turtle Beach Sound Card utility, but this fix does not last. Does anyone have advice as to how I can prevent this problem from happening? Thanks.
