On my XP laptop Adobe Flash started opening a window on every reboot saying they were not supporting anymore and either they could remind me later to uninstall or uninstall. I finally uninstalled. Not sure if it's a coincidence but as I was trying to start a capture Vdub showed crash: "An integer division by zero occurred in module 'shmedia'.". A number of other things seem to be malfunctioning now as well. Windows Explorer has crashed several times. My video player smplayer also plays nothing. I suspect it's related to the uninstall. Any idea what's gone wrong? Thanks.

Usually my drives are too full for restore to work. Luckily because I've been keeping the XP laptop as bare as possible a restore could go. Right now as I try a capture Vdub didn't crash right away. I'll see how it goes.

The capture worked. I found out there was also a problem with the s-vhs going in. Now I'm not sure what caused the problem but glad at least the composite capture worked.
