Lite-On LVW-5005XS & LSI Chipset

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody here knows if this particular DVD Recorder (LVW-5005XS) has the LSI Chipset? I read on this site that the LiteOn LVW-5005 was one of the recommended DVD recorders based on the fact that it did in fact have the chipset. I ask because there is no mention of this in the manual or any other literature I can find. I'm guessing no because there is no "DoMiNoFx" markings on the unit as I've seen in pictures of the standard LVW-5005 (noXS) model.
Thanks

Do you have the unit yourself or are you looking at getting one?

What chipset it uses is normally not something shown on the outside, if you have one you can look at the ICs, though it was common for there to be a heatsink on the main IC. It also varied a bit what manufacturers paired the LSI system IC with. The LSI main ICs are named like DMN86xx, the brand changed from LSI to Magnum as it got bought out at one point.

Hi Hodgey,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have this unit but haven't "cracked" open the case yet to see, though I'm not sure if I'd recognize the chip or what it/I'd be looking for. When I get a chance I'll take a picture of the inside & post here. Like I say the reason I was asking is because I don't see the "DoMiNoFx" markings that I see in pictures of the standard LVW-5005 not the XS model I have.
