hiya
i have a question
i have a video that i would like to resurrect and hopefully transfer to DVD. I think there is something wrong with the mechanism in there that rolls the tape properly. If I remember correctly, when the problem started, it would speed up often. These days, it doesn't even work. I think the tape and data on the tape are still good. But the tape mechanism seems shot for some reason. I haven't tried to open the tape yet. I've tried to look for tape restorers but did not have any luck finding one here in the Bay Area, California. I saw you mentioning it a few times on this board so I thought perhaps you had suggestions on how to fix and perhaps a pro restorer.

Thanks!
This doesn't sound like the tape, but the VCR. The signal on the tape could be damaged, and it's throwing the VCR, confusing it into trying to play the wrong speed. I've seen this a lot.

If you'd like to let us try to repair, restore and convert the tape to DVD, contact us about this project.
