Hello,
I've done the 128 Pro to MMC 8.7 Hack on a few machines using WIN 98 SE and it has worked like a charm every time, However I have done it twice using Windows XP Pro on 2 different machines and ended up with the same result... The MMC TV will either hang with the hourglass for an eternity or I get a MMC has to close error, however all of the other MMC software works fine. Also when I go to uninstall MMC 8.7 to try again it tries to load the uninstaller and then leaves me hanging. I have re-installed the "Magic" WDM drivers several times to no avail. I have followed the instructions to the letter, and as stated have had great success in 98SE, Any guidance would be appreciated, even if it is only to get MMC 8.7 uninstalled. Thanks - GMaq

That is really strange, I have pretty much ONLY installed on Windows XP Pro systems. If you're following the WinXP instructions to the letter, and it gives this problem, I would say to look at the service pack installations. Is SP1 or SP2 installed? I've done it on SP1 installs, never messed with the in-your-face-yet-unneeded SP2. Also, verify that WINDOWS MEDIA ENCODER and WMP9 and DIRECTX 9 are all properly updated on Windows.
