Capturing Settings for Non-Encoded Videos

I'm confused about my notes on this subject so I wanted to double check it..

For videos that I am NOT going to encode, I'm just going to capture them, and then take them straight into Workshop, and make them into a DVD.

In my capturing program, WinTV, should I make the settings as follows -
Variable Bitrate 3900 (these numbers are just examples)
Bitrate Peak 4900

Video Resolution - 352x480, or should it be 720x480? I have both wrote down, and that's where I'm confused. At first guess, I would think it would be 352x480 since I won't be encoding them, but I wanted to double check.

Audio- 256

Those bitrates are in the "superbit" range, if used with 352x480. It's very high, meaning the picture should be fairly artifact-free from most sources. You're looking at about 2.5 hours, using those settings.

If you did that with 704x480 or 720x480, then your video would be very blocky. That is a very high compression, a low bitrate allocation. Not good for 720x480.

Definitely 352x480, yes.

Remember that this topic is covered on the introduction to capturing and encoding video near the bottom of the article.
