Capture from VCR using ATI All-in-wonder 9600

I have been trying to cature video from my VCR using my ATI All-in-wonder 9600. When I try to cature the video, the end result is a choppy video, which appears to be a problem of dropping frames. This was as I captured into an MPEG format. I want to try to capture the video in an AVI format to see if that will help. I followed all your steps in setting up the capture info. When I try to record to an AVI file I get "RECORD ERROR" about 8 mins into the 25 min video. Does anyone have any ideas why I am getting that error?

Did you run down the list found on the Dropped Frames guide? Read that list at http://www.digitalFAQ.com/guides/vid...ped-frames.htm

"Record Error" may be due to several issues. A primary one is not having enough free hard drive space, or trying to record to a drive that is too busy or too slow. Capturing to a second hard drive is suggested. Also look to use the HuffYUV codec.

Let's try to keep this all in one thread for now, since it appears to be a single problem.
