Question..........
Which would be a better source for anolog capture. 1) AIW 9600 or PLEXTOR ConvertX USB2.0 Digital Video Converter.......and why? |
The USB itself shoots down that one. You're better with an internal card. The USB is not a consistant data transfer speed, and can cause frame drops and other issues.
The 9000 PRO would maybe be better than the 9600 (supposedly the FM tuner and digital tuner on the 9600 has it's own set of issues, though most probably still find it to work fine). If you need fast graphics for video games, look at 9700 or 9800. So far, the only USB converter I though had potential was the TDK indiCAPTURE USB2.0, but I've not gotten to test one to date. What speed of PC, and what are the specs of the system you want to use this on? That has a lot to do with determining what's best for you. |
Lordsmurf,
2.40 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 8 kilobyte primary memory cache 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache Bus Clock: 200 megahertz c: (on drive 0)80.02 GB f: (on drive 1)80.02 GB What other specs would you need to know? |
I don't know wy some of the posts didn't show up in my e-mail box. Sorry for the delay. Very odd.
Anyhow, your system should EASILY support and ATI AIW 9600 card. You should have ZERO problems with it. The only headache COULD be installation, but not always. Some find it quite easy (had no problems on my first card). |
