Off topics, but I tried to find your post where you describe the paticularity of your 7955EK.
Do I remember well, that you said it was coming with power adapter for 110V or I dream about that...

The JVC HR-S 7965EK has a power supply that is rated for 110-240V.
All you need is a plug shape adapter. It works worldwide without requiring a step converter.

It's a nice unit.
