Open video and let it load.

Go to Video > Copy Source Frame to ClipBoard.

Open your favorite image editor. I use Photoshop. File > New > (OK) > Paste

Done.

This is another avenue I have yet to visit!..Photo editing and Software...(Except for Windows Live Photo Essentials) Any links or direction to guides???...And will VirtualDub make snapshots of MPEG files??(Last time I loaded an MPEG file into my L.S. version of V-Dub,I think the "copy -- frame to clipboard" choices were grayed out,and yes the MPEG plugin is installed

I don't have anything to add, really.

- Be sure you've let the MPEG file fully load before trying to do anything.
- If you don't have any photo editing software, you can use Paint that comes with Windows. Just paste and save as JPEG.

The Windows 7 version of Paint has some added photo features finally, too, like cropping.

Thanks lordsmurf! Windows 7 also has "snipping tool" in "accessories", which I'm just getting familiar with,I think it's an easier way to save and crop/ect.. a file to the clipboard, and to save screenshots to clipboard too..I still have to have a friend show me how to copy/paste a file,But I've learned just enough the past 3 years about computer Audio/Video to get in trouble and stumble along!
