Quick question on DVHS VCRs for transfer of old VHS tapes. What are the differences in TBCs on the JVC HM-DH40000u and the Mitsubishi HS-HD2000u? Are they essentially the same; I'd read on this forum that the JVC has full frame sync in addition to the typical Digipure feature. Also, I believe the JVC TBC circuit is always on, whereas the Mitsu can be turned off along with the DNR. Is this a concern? Sometimes TBCs make things worse and you want to turn them off.

Thanks in advance for your comments and insights.

the JVC DVHS TBC's are always on.
the Mitsu can be turned off.
the Mitsu TBC seems to be on par with the 9000 series JVC SVHS ecks
the JVC DVHS TBC is better , but it cant be turned off and that can present a problem with certain tapes.

I think the "always on" TBC is limited to the last D-VHS models, or just to the US models. The HM-DR10000EU, which I believe is the only PAL machine, does have selectable TBC if I remember correctly.
