Just a general note for all JVC DVD Recorder owners that might help.

I use

XP or SP for Wrestling/Sports
FR170 for Live action (soap operas, sitcoms)
FR185-190 for Animation (3hr mode essentially)
FR170-185 for VHS Restoration

Have not had a chance to use LP yet

I find that I use FR165 for just about everything.

Cartoons and live action, it produces great results and after editing out commercials, provides about 3 hours per DVD. 7-9 30-minute cartoons or 4 1-hour shows.

For cartoons, on a clean signal off cable or antenna, I use LP 4-hour, puts up to 11 eps on a disc. Everything else, pretty much 3-hour FR180, about 7-8 eps per disc. Sometimes I also use FR170-FR210 range, 8-9 eps per disc.

Well, I am getting my JVC, my timetable should be September I plan to get a recorder with atleast a 160gig hard drive built in.

I am getting a extended one-yr warranty for the Panasonic next weds for Wendy, as she will have this pile, which is still working and there's no way she can afford repairs.

Now I just got to find a good JVC DVD recorder with a HD

And save up for it

Brent

Patience is a virtue, but when dealing with a Panasonic a sledge hammer would be so much faster.......
