Hello,

I have recently started capturing some VHS to mpeg2 using a 9800 pro and mmc 9.02. about 20-30 minutes in it will just hang and crashes the program and i wont be able to do anything without restarting computer.

im also having issue while in virtualdub using the 9800 pro. it says that it is connected to capture device: ATI T200 AVstream, but nothing shows in preview or overlay. and the format selection is grayed out.
I read that some AIW cards might not work with virtualdub using WDM driver but may work using VFW?

Thank you,
Bill

I wanted to add that im running XP w/SP3. i read SP3 might have issues with MMC. also running P4 3.0 GHz, 2 GB of 400 MHz ram.

Thanks.

Ok, a simple install of mmc 8.8 took care of the hanging/crashing issue when recording mpeg2. but i still cant capture avi in virtualdub_1.10.4 through the 9800 pro. in capture mode it says its connected to ATI T200 AV stream (analog capture) (directshow)

Any thoughts?

Thanks again,
Bill

The "T200" is from the newer Catalyst drivers. You probably need to use the older drivers.
See http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...der-hacks.html

XP SP3 issues is usually dropped frames. Not this.

Hello again, sorry for the delay.
i cant seem to find the older rage capture drivers, which are used for the 7000 and 8000 series cards, correct?
I downloaded "ATI All-In-Wonder Setup (181-G01116-110)" which only had the direct X install. could you please point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Since this last reply, I think several most CD ISOs have been added here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...der-hacks.html
If one of those does not work (unusual!), post there for some help finding the right version.

This was an unanswered question or unresolved issue found during a site audit. It's hard to have an FAQ when the answers are missing, or final outcomes are unknown. At The Digital FAQ support forum, questions are never intentionally ignored, and may have been missed due to a forum glitch or human error. More details on the audit. (In some cases, threads have been edited/updated with newer information.)
