I recently had a computer crash while recording using Loilo game recorder. Loilo is constantly writing to the file, so the footage up until the crash should still be there, but no program will open the file, presumably because the end of the file is messed up.

Does anyone know of a way to repair a file like that?

Never heard of it.

Google shows it to be a MJPEG capture device. But MJPEG as a format was junked years ago by even casual video users. So I find it odd that it was chosen. Even MPEG-2 can be better.

MJPEG is generally in an AVI wrapper, and corrupt AVI files can be impossible to fix.
