Has any one tried the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1955 ?

How does it compare to an ATI capture card and MMC ?

With WinXP becoming extinct for online use , the Hauppauge looks like an option to be used with Windows 7 .

It's a hardware MPEG-2 encoder, so that is one major difference.

When I posted this thread my only computer was WinXP and I needed to upgrade to Windows 7 because XP is now unsafe online . So I was thinking of getting Windows 7 and installing it on my older computer and looking for alternatives for recording video .

But I bought a cheap used laptop with Windows 7 , so now I can keep my old WinXP comp with an ATI x800 capture card offline .

I did buy a Hauppauge Live2USB . I actually still prefer the ATI x800 over the Hauppauge .
