Hello,

I recently acquired a used HR-S7800U and it was shipped to me with a tape inside. I made my first mistake when I tried to turn it on and play. The tape got chewed and it ejected with the tape still fed through the machine. I opened the cover and lifted the tape so it will come out.

Now, whenever a tape is inserted:

- The tape inserts and the head begins to spin
- Nothing happens for a few seconds meanwhile the tape begins to turn (without the actual tape on the head)
- Tape is loaded around the head and the tape plays at an advanced speed (with no video output, still blue)
- After 10-15 seconds, VCR turns off
- If I turn the power on, it does the same thing and it will not react to any of the controls
- To eject, the eject button needs to be pushed while the device is off.

The unit itself is in immaculate condition. It is completely spotless inside and everything appears to be well lubricated. I do truly believe that the unit is/was in good working condition. Any help fixing this issue would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Just a quick update to the post. It appears to no longer load and will just immediately eject. See below for videos of the issue from a couple different angles. Hopefully this helps someone put me on the right track.
