ATI MMC records 720x960 on PCIe AIW cards?

I cannot make my ATI AIW PCIe cards capture 720x480 using SW encoding (to get 15mbps CBR for BD specs). Even when set to 720x480, it records 720x960. Only HW encoding works, for 9~15mbps VBR.

Has anybody seen this before?
sanlyn, maybe?

I've read a lot of threads on sites online -- including this one -- and see that others experience this. I've never seen it until now.

The ATI All In Wonder PCIe cards (2006, x1800, x1900) all require Catalyst 6+, and ATI MMC 9.13+. In the past, others simply downgraded their AGP cards to pre-6 Catalyst and pre-9.1x MMC. But that's not an option here.

Furthermore, the registry doesn't seem to house MMC values anymore. So that fix isn't an option.

Ideas?

I'd set up ATI AIW PCIe cards in the past, with no issues. Neither the original 2006 CD works, nor the downloadable latest drivers/MMC.

I'm about to throw it against a brick wall.

You may be able to find where the settings are stored by using something like Regshot. Despite the name, it can also search for differences in files when you make settings changes.
