Is the JVC HR-S9500E/EH VCR not recommended?
2 Attachment(s)
I have the oportunity to buy a JVC HR-S9500E/EH (the PAL version), but have read forum posts here that it is not recommended due to it's lack of TBC/NR functionality. But this unit actually HAS built in Line TBC and NR (the JVC magic green button). Is there any reason to avoid this unit? How does it perform compared to JVC's later models?
See attached image and user manual for details ;-) http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/atta...1&d=1470680847 |
If it has it, you can get it.

Thank you very much, lordsmurf :-)
The only difference that I find between the 9500 and the newer models, is that the newer models has "Digipure Technology" written to the "Cassette Loading Slot", while the 9500 has written "Dynamic Drum System" instead. Does anyone have some detailed information on what this "Digipure Technology" really means and what it's all about? |
The PAL and NTSC versions of the 9500 differed. Many have reported the PAL doesn't have TBC. I've seen pictures, it did not. So perhaps there were two sub-models. That's not impossible, because the 9500 was on market for years, unlike the later 9600-9911 models or the PAL 8000s series that came after the 9500.
The main thing to look for is: - TBC - picture mode settings < this may or may not be DigiPure DigiPure may just be a fancy marketing name. I don't remember. Find out from the seller. |
