JVC SR-MV30U says "Loading". So I assume the machine is dead. It loads a VHS tape but the DVD drive will not eject. There is also no signal from the machine. The vcr parts spins around properly. I do need see any broken caps.

Did you just get this machine or is this new behavior from one you've had for a while? My JVC SR-MV45 flashes "loading" if it has been unplugged or has sat unused for a long time. After about five minutes of flashing "loading" it goes into the "off' position (with the clock showing). Then you can power it up normally.

When I found my JVC SR-MV45 it had an instruction sheet by JVC taped to the top, which reads, in relevant part:
"When the AC plug is connected into AC outlet for the first time "LOADING" is displayed for approximately 50 seconds while microprocessors is being initialized. Make sure to start operations only after "LOADING" disappears from the front display panel."

Taking the cover off I was able to push the button on the drive and eject the drive. Same problem with "Loading".
