ATI TV Wonder USB vs Radeon AIW?

Hi,

This is my first post here.

After searching a lot, I couldn't find any information on the Ati Tv Wonder Usb 2.0.

Searching the web i could find that it has the Theater 200 chipset.

How does it compare to a Radeon AIW agp with the same chipset? Does it have the same features? Any limitations?

Someone wants to sell me one rather cheap (~U$25) and i was told it works perfectly on windows 7. Is it true?

Thank you!

Don't let the price scare you. I bought this for $30 and it works perfectly for me (using VirtualDub on a Windows 7 PC).

Make sure it has the necessary attachments. You can download the drivers on this site.

Edit: I bought this - ATI TV Wonder HD 600 USB PC TV Tuner - not the TV Wonder 2.0 USB.

Most all cards sold that cheap are missing essential parts. Beware!

The USB does NOT have Theatre chips. Whatever you read is not correct information. The ATI AIW Radeon series is better because of this chipset. The ATI 600 USB is not bad, just not as perfect.

As you can see, this product is rather unknown and the name is misleading.

It is not de Ati Tv Wonder 600 nor the 650. It's the "Ati Tv Wonder Usb 2.0" And it has an ATI Theater 200 chipset inside it.

You can see a review with pictures of it, including pictures of the chip:

Hmmm.... 2004. I need to dig through my research cache.

Always remember: Chipset alone does not make it quality. A great example is the LSI chipset, and how it was mismanaged by Creative (failed USB device) and Panasonic (terrible DVD recording quality).

It's going to take a while, several weeks, but I want to research this.

That's why I asked. Anyway I just bought it, lets see what happens...

Thank you for your attention.

Did the seller confirm it works in Win7 x64? Cause compatibility for 32-bit Win7 is a lot easier to come by for old hardware.
