JVC HR-S7900U menu problem

When I try to access my menu on my JVC HR-S7900U it either appears but when I try to click over it either goes black or has green wavy lines and over it and freezes.

Capture setup:

AVT 8710
Matrox MX02 Mini MAX

I have tried just running the VCR straight into the Matrox and still get the same problem.
