Some of my VHS lose time code at certain moment of playing. VCR display counter stops count - numbers are frozen. Cassette is still playing but picture disappears, reappears, disappears, reappears...

I am using canopuses for capturing.

May standalone TBC like AVT 8710 helps with this issue?

Many Thanks.

A TBC could definitely help, yes, if the cause of the issue is a standard timing issue. You also must be using a VCR with a good transport and internal TBC. I've seen this sort of error many times. It's usually a combination of cheap VCR, capture card, and lack of TBC.

To be the fault of the tape is secondary, and far less common. If it happens on multiple tapes, the odds of it being a tape issue is nil. It'll be the workflow hardware at fault.

1. What are you using?
2. Know that I have some quality VCRs and TBCs available.

Thanks.

It's definitely a tape issue (only some of them have corrupted timing). I am using HR-S9600 and converted many tapes before without problem. Nor the capture device is problem - the same issue is visible on TV.

I don't know if you sell and send TBCs to overseas
