VirtualDub responds very slowly when selecting settings?

Ok, my system now properly recognizes the HD 600 USB, but VirtualDub is having a hard time using it. VD takes about 25 seconds to respond to some menu items. Clicking on and returning from the following menu items seemingly takes forever:

1. Change Video from Overlay to Preview, or vice versa
2. Ironically, changing the preview accelerator
3. Change Capture Settings
4. Start a capture (very awkward to have to wait 25 seconds for VD to start a capture)
5. Stop a capture
4. Enter and return from cropping

My Hauppauge 2250 capture card worked fine with VD.

Any idea why I'm having trouble with the HD 600 and VD?

My HD 600 USB driver is version 5.7.831.0 from 8/31/07. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64bit on an Intel i7-4770K processor with 16GB memory. VD is version 1.9.11. Process Explorer (souped up Task Manager) shows little activity. VD takes 3 % or less while capturing and 0% when VD is trying to respond to a menu item change.

Thanks,
Steve

Check your USB port history. If it gets clogged with too many entries, especially corrupted ones, this can happen. There's a tool that I use for WinXP, because I constantly flush my card testing system, but unsure on newer OS.

Found it: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_log_view.html
Also attached.
Since it has 2018 updates, I assume it works in current Windows?
