Which of these 2 dvd recorder
 

I found these 2 online for about 80$


Would like to know whut you think about it. I'm only using it to: transfer episodes from dvr to dvd. (One complete recording on 2 hr mode) Then stop, rip onto computer, edit, then author.

New disk, and start over.



1: LITE-ON LVW-5005
2: Philips DVDR615 DVD

I had the Lite-On. It was decent. Always used to overheat, so I ran it uncovered, with a fan blowing directly on the heatsink.

I would go with the LITE-ON, Phillips has a history of not so good transfers

The Philips 615 has an LSI chipset and looks great, but the machine has some major flaws and malfunctions. It has a lot of mechanical and electrical faults that cause it to misbehave.

The LiteOn is not innocent either, but it's by far the better choice. And cheaper to boot.
