Costant tracking problem with my JVC HR-S9600
 

I have a JVC HR-S9600 that give me costantly a tracking (?) issue.
It gives a noise band about at the lower ~10% of the image that it's impossibile to remove without misalign everything else.
I changed the pinch roller because I saw it was a little consumed, regreased the guides, and cleaned very well everything, but the problem persists.

If I try to do manual tracking, the band moves up/down, and if I try to put it down, before it disappears, there is severe mistrack, so I can't solve with manual tracking.

The tape flows well in its path, without bouncing-moving strange anywhere.
The problem persists with every single vhs I try to read and persists when I try to still the image.

Fortunately I also have a good Panasonic, that works very well with most cassettes, but some cassettes, instead, can be read well (apart from that band) only with the JVC.

I feel quite confident to exclude that the heads are worn, that the problem is due deformations of the tapes etc.
The tapes are playing correctly on some bargain vcr I have (obviously with very poor quality).

I'm trying to figure out the problem but without success and I hope that someone in this forum could help me. This forum it's a gold mine of deep knowledge on this topic and helped me a lot in the past!

I had a similar issue a few months back with a Panasonic VCR (my capture sample). In my case the problem turned out to be interference from other nearby equipment. Repositioning machines and rerouting my video cables solved the problem. Why don't you give that a try?

That looks more like an alignment issue to me, the noise bar looks like the JVC dropout compensation. I'm not a VCR repairperson though so don't take my word for it.

If that's what it is something that can be fixed by adjust the tape guides inside the machine. There is a guide here, and alternatively a youtube vid demonstrating a bit of it here.
