352x480 mpeg Input / Output Virtual Dub
Testing out, 352x480 half d1, mpeg2 file in Virtual Dub
Need to use some of the filters.... The output file gets messed up big time the aspect ratio of the AVI file which is created from VD doesn't look anything like the input file. Since KP media works with 352x480 mode, what is the best way to output this file to keep the correct aspect ratio. |
To view / preview the video as 4:3, right click on the video pane in VirtualDub, and change it to a 4:3 ratio. Then you can see it as a 4x3 aspect realtime. That won't change the file, or the output, but it will allow 4:3 preview. Both panes, input and output, can be independently set.
Is that what you're after? |

Windows Media Player is displaying as square pixels, making it a 20:11 aspect.
720x480 is 3:2 aspect when squared, which is also wrong for display. Both should be using non-square pixels in 4:3 aspect. WMP is honestly a really, really, really crappy video player. It always has been, all the back into the 1990s. It's good for audio, but that's about it. And even then, you can argue apps like WinAmp make for a much better musical experience. Use VLC Player. It's freeware: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ You can change aspect to 4:3 or whatever it needs to be, in VLC. Just right-click while playing a video, and you'll see it in the video options submenu. |
It looks the same way in the two video edit programs that I have.

You may have to specify certain options. If 352x480 shows up wrong, then so does 720x480 (again 3:2, not 4:3).
What programs? |
It is not really a big deal thought I would ask about this. This was just a test using 352x480.
