hello, downloading from youtube I get an mp4 file.
Do you think this file should be converted mp4 to dvd? if I want to get a good quality:
mp4 (640 x 360) -> mp4 (no conversion) only original file -> bluray player
mp4 -> dvd video (720x 576) -> bluray player
what is the best video solution?

Of course keeping the original file will be better quality if the player will play it, unless the scaler on your Blu-ray player really sucks.

The Youtube video crashed my browser. Boo!

I prefer to watch MP4 videos as-is on Blu-ray players ... assuming it doesn't need to be restored. It didn't crashed Firefox this time. The video looks okay. It has some mild compression artifacts, but otherwise not bad.

For something like this, I'd be somewhat lazy, if I simply had to burn it to DVD. I'd use ConvertXToDVD, as the source is fine. I'd make a menu-less disc, and it's encode/convert and author in one pass. Stuff from Youtube is rarely worth my time for advanced authoring, editing, restoration, etc. Just save to HDD, watch on TV via Serviio.
