I'm trying to open video files in AviSynth and fail so far.
My goal is to deinterlace lossless video files (768x576 pixel, though
VirtualDub reports them as 720x576) into 50fps videos playable on a computer. No DVD or Bluray compatibilty needed, but if possible it's welcome.
I'm on a Mac with OSX 10.6.8 and have installed AviSynth 2.6 and
VirtualDub 1.10.4 with AMVPack_160625 (thru PlayOnMac). Additionally I installed the QTGMC 32bit plugins. I tried VirtualDub 1.10.5test7 and 1.09.11 with no difference.
I can open the videos in VirtualDub with no problem, but I can't do that via an avs script (I wrote: AVISource("test.avi") ) The file test.avi is in the plugins folder.
I always get the message "AVISource autodetect: couldn't open file" or AVIFileSource: couldn't open file" when trying it with AviSource, and "the manager won't talk to me" when trying DirectShowSource. With TDeint ( TDeint(AVISource("test.avi")) I get "couldn't locate decompressor for fourcc dvsd"
I tried other files, like mpeg2 and H264 and dv and I always get the same error messages.
I'm trying to read through posts in different forums and faqs, but as I'm in a special situation with my mac, it's difficult to determine which solutions apply to my case.
So, I'm at a loss here. Could someone point me into the right direction what to do to open files with AviSynth? Is there something essentially missing in my installation?
Thanks for listening...
