H.264 codec (MPEG-4) in chroma subsampling 4:2:2?

Is there a way to save a given movie(AVI; HuffYUV) in the H.264 codec in the chroma subsample: 4:2:2 ? (Because in this codec this information is normally, most commonly stored in: 4:2:0 probably).
A program ? As far as I know, there is such a possibility(H.264 in 4:2:2): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC

I'm asking because in such a lossy codec, I would like to finally save a file which from birth to my entire journey will be 4:2:2 and I think that it would be good not to give away at least any color information.

After capturing VHS tapes to a digital file in AVI (HuffYUV) I would like to save them in the codec H.264 at the end because the file will be reproducible on many different devices in such a codec (in HuffYUV it would not be). It's a good idea ? Is there any other better codec (less lossy) that will work without problems on different devices like H.264 ?

H.264 isn't usable on DVD players.
h.264 encoding at 4:2:2 is possible with some specialized software (try ffmpeg, although I hear their encoding isn't that great). 4:2:2 is not DVD or BluRay compatible, and most websites that you would post it to will re-encode it for 4:2:0.

While not compliant to some specs, I do it quite a bit for retain full color for compressed archives. The files play fine in the local DLNA (WDTV, BD player, etc).

I need to bug selur to add this feature in Hybrid. Just looked at the newer version of Hybrid, it's there.

Hybrid should read whatever is installed on the system.

Is it able to write interlaced signal in H.264 and simultaneously in 4:2:2(YUV) ?
